I recently modded my Nerf ?
I recently modded my Nerf Longshot, and I gave it a Nite finder spring, filled in the little air hole in the barrel, cleared out the air restrictors, (All of them) and I think it is a neat job overall. However, It fires in completely random directions. It doesn't shoot in any specific direction, it is just random. I am using Streamline darts, and maybe the problem is that I'm not using Stefans. If this is the problem, please provide a GOOD link for how to make Stefans. I have researched Stefan-making and all the guides I have found suck. Any help?
There can be a few different issues when replacing springs.
Is it shooting wildly at the end of the shot eg: flying Straight and fine till the last 5 metres?
If this is the case this is normal, one way to reduce this is to use homemade stefans (you can find a lot of instructions on youtube if you type in homemade stefans or modding nerf darts).
I just use FBR (foam backing rod) cut it into dart length sizes stick them in a pillow case, close up the case and put hair dryer nozzle in, heat on medium for 3-5 mins (just check until darts are straight) then melt small hole in the top put a 3/16 washer (brass is better as its light) then cover in glue. You can added a bb if weight isn't enough.
Otherwise if it just shoots wildly from the barrel I would recommend extending the barrel with PVC or Brass (brass is better as it has less friction. This should give the dart a better chance of going Straight.
